If you plan to go to Seoraksan (Mount Sorak National Park) upon arrival at Incheon Airport, you can actually take a bus. The FIRST STEP is to take a direct bus from Incheon Airport to Sokcho.
This bus from Incheon Airport will stop over at Gimpo Airport before going straight to Sokcho Terminal. The SECOND STEP is to take Bus No. 7 or Bus No. 7-1 from Sokcho Terminal to Seoraksan / Mount Sorak National Park.

| FIRST STEP: Catch the "Sokcho" bus at Bus Stop 9C, 1st Floor of Incheon Airport Terminal. |
STEP1: Direct Bus from Incheon Airport to Sokcho
To take the "Sokcho" bus at Incheon Airport, you should proceed to BUS STOP 9C located at 1st Floor of arrival Terminal 1 (also available from the new Terminal 2). However, there are only three buses a day. The bus to Sokcho will depart from here at 9:00am, 4:00pm and 8:00pm everyday. The bus ticket fare to Sokcho from Incheon Airport is 30,000won. This is reasonable considering the trip to Sokcho takes about 3 hours.This cross country bus is operated by Geumgang Express.STEP 2: Bus from Sokcho Terminal to Seoraksan / Mount Sorak National Park
Most tourists and local Koreans go to Sokcho because they want to visit Seoraksan or Mount Seorak National Park, which is a UNESCO Heritage Site. Koreans like to come here to climb Ulsanbawi Rock.
Upon arriving at Sokcho Intercity Bus Terminal (Sokcho Terminal) from Incheon Airport, you can take local bus 7 or bus 7-1 to go to Mount Sorak National Park. The bus stop for this bus is located less than 100 meters on the right hand side of Sokcho Bus Terminal. The frequency of the bus is about every 30 minutes (both bus 7 or 7-1 can take you to Mount Sorak National Park. The bus ticket fare for these bus is only 1200won (please prepare small change in exact amount if possible). The bus journey time from Sokcho Terminal to Seoraksan National Park is about 45 minutes.

On your way back after visiting Mount Seorak National Park, you can take bus 7 or bus 7-1 from the opposite side of the road to return to Sokcho Terminal or to your hotel in Sokcho.

That's it. Only two buses are required to take you to the famous Seoraksan (Mount Sorak) National Park from Incheon Airport. First take the "Sokcho" Bus from Incheon Airport to Sokcho Airport. You can also take this bus at Gimpo Airport if your flight arrives at Gimpo Airport. Upon arrival at Sokcho Terminal, take Bus No. 7 or Bus No. 7-1 to go from Sokcho Terminal to Mount Seorak National Park. The journey is long but the mountainous view along the way is astonishing too. Apart from visiting Mount Sorak National Park, you can also visit Sokcho Beach, Sokcho Daepo Port Fish Market, Sokcho Teddy Bear Farm, Sokcho Cheongchoho Lake and Sinheungsa Temple. Enjoy your bus trip from Incheon Airport to Sokcho and Mt. Seorak National Park.

DeleteNo reservation required generally. You can just buy the bus ticket to Sokcho when you arrive at Inchoen Airport. Alternatively, you can contact Geumgang Express at telephone (033)432-7892 to check if they accept any form of reservation.

Figured it out...the bus is going at 4:30AM, 11:30AM and 13:30PM from Sokchon bus terminal to Incheon Airport directly.

ReplyDeleteIn the event that you miss the 9am bus, the other alternative is to take Jamsil Bus 6705 from Incheon Airport to "East Seoul Bus Terminal" where there is a bus departing to Sokcho every 30 minutes. Bus 6075 departs from Incheon Airport every 15-20 minutes. Enjoy your tour to Sokcho!

ReplyDeleteMy flight will be landed 6.30am incheon. I hope i can catch that 9am direct bus to sokcho next mth. Hopefully imigration clearance plus collection of my pocket data internet at the airport would not be much hassle. N hopefully seats are still available. If not need to go to Dong Seoul bua terminal, more than one hour journey. My trip to south korea next mth nov 2017.
