Bus from Incheon International Airport to Busan

Do you know that you can take a bus from Incheon Airport to Busan? Yes, many people know that you can take train from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station and then from Seoul Station take a train to Busan Station. However, few people know that you can actually take a bus from Incheon Airport to Busan.

Bus from Incheon Airport to Busan

Yes, Busan is 5 hours away from Incheon Airport by bus but the journey is actually not too long compared to taking aeroplane if you consider the time taken for checking-in, boarding a flight, collecting baggages and airport transfer. 
From Incheon Airport, you can catch a bus to Busan at Bus Stop 10C located at 1st Floor of the Terminal 1, as shown in the floor plan below. (NOTE: Bus to Busan also picks up passengers from the New Terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport)

After you have boarded the bus at Incheon Airport, the bus will go to Songdo Transfer Center in Incheon to cater for transfer passengers before going direct to Busan Cross-Country / Express Bus Terminal.

Bus Ticket Fare for One Way Trip from Incheon Airport to Busan

The bus service from Incheon Airport to Busan is managed by Gyeongbuk-Kochi-Service. The bus ticket fare for a single trip is KRW41,800 per person. This ticket price is not expensive considering that the distance covered is actually about 5 hours. It is definitely cheaper than flight ticket. 

Frequency and Timetable for Bus from Incheon Airport to Busan

The frequency of bus from Incheon Airport to Busan is about every one and a half hour (every 90 minutes). The first bus departs from Incheon Airport bus stop 10C to Busan at 7.00am in the morning. The second bus to Busan departs Incheon Airport at 8.30am while the third and forth bus departs at 10.00am and 11.30am respectively. In the afternoon and evening, there are another 7 buses departing from Incheon Airport to Busan at 1.00pm, 2.30pm, 4:00pm, 5.30pm 7.00pm, 8.30pm and 10.00pm.

Late Night Bus from Incheon Airport to Busan

If your flight arrive late you miss the last normal bus from Incheon Airport to Busan at 10:00pm, you can still take the special late-night bus from Incheon Airport Busan at 11:30pm. However, the bus ticket fare for late night bus is KRW46,600 (slightly more expensive than KRW41,800 for normal hour bus). You will arrive at Busan around 4.30am. Best of all, you can sleep in the comfort of deluxe limousine bus while travelling from Incheon Airport to Busan Cross-Country / Express Bus Terminal. 

Taking Returning Bus from Busan to Incheon Airport

You can also take the same bus service managed by Gyeongbuk-Kochi-Service after your stay in Busan to get to Incheon International Airport. If you plan to do so, you can buy your returning ticket at Busan Cross-Country / Express Bus Terminal.

Should You Take Train or Bus from Incheon Airport to Busan?

Both train and bus will take you from Incheon International Airport to Busan. If you choose train, you will have to take AREX train from Incheon Airport to Seoul Station (43 minutes) first before catching another 2.5 hour train from Seoul to Busan with waiting time in between when changing train at Seoul Station. In total, the travel time is slightly shorter than taking bus from Incheon Airport to Busan. In terms of ticket price, train is also more expensive because a 1 day Korail Pass for train to Busan is KRW70,200. For people who have a lot of baggages and would like to avoid the hassle of dragging along heavy baggages when changing trains, taking bus from Incheon Airport to Busan may still be the preferred option.

      Yes, you can buy the bus ticket at the bus ticket counter at the arrival of Incheon Airport. There are also bus ticket counters outside the arrival hall.

      As far as I know, online purchase is not yet available. You can buy upon arrival at Incheon Airport.

      I know there is only bus from Busan to Dongseoul Station to Seoul. After arrive in Dongseoul Station, you can take taxi or subway train to Myeongdong. You can book the bus ticket at https : // www . kobus . co . kr

      Hello Tan,
      The bus ticket counter is located at 1st floor of the terminal building, which is the arrival hall. You will reach the arrival hall after you have collected your baggage and clear custom check. If you are not sure where to buy bus ticket to Busan, you can ask the staff at Information counters at Incheon Airport. They can speak English, Mandarin and Japanese. Have a safe trip.

      You can double check on your arrival on the next available bus. The other option is to take KTX train to Busan.

      Hello Nat,
      Since you are going from Seoul, you may consider taking train at Seoul station instead of taking bus from Incheon to go to Busan. Anyway, if you decide to go from Incheon Airport to Busan, you have to go to the arrival hall to buy the bus ticket.
