Bus from Incheon Airport to High 1 Resort, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do

With the arrival of November, ski and snowboarding season is going to start very soon in Korea. As the highest ski and snowboarding resort in Korea, High 1 offers the purest and thickest natural snow on its slopes for the best skiing and snowboarding experience for beginners and expert alike. Here is only one problem, High 1 Resort is located in Sabuk-eup, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do, which is 4 hours of drive from Incheon Airport.

Fortunately, there is a bus that you can take to go from Incheon Airport to High1 Resort in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do.
  • Taebaek Bus - Take the Taebaek Bus at Incheon Airport to Shigohan Terminal (Gohan Station) near High1 Resort. Then take the High1 Free Shuttle bus from Gohan Station to High1 Resort. (Bus Ticket Fare: KRW36,900 = approx. USD$32).

Bus Schedule for Taebaek Bus from Incheon Airport to SinGohan Terminal and then High1 Resort

There are four Taebaek buses from departing from Incheon International Airport everyday from 1st Floor Arrival Terminal 1, at Bus Stop 9C. (Now also departs from the new Terminal 2) The departure time of Taebaek Bus at Incheon Airport is as below:
Bus Depature: 9:30am (arriving at SinGohan Terminal at about 2:00pm)
Bus Depature: 1:30pm (arriving at SinGohan Terminal at about 6:00pm)
Bus Depature: 3:30pm (arriving at SinGohan Terminal at about 8:00pm)
Bus Depature: 7:30pm (arriving at SinGohan Terminal at about 1:00am)
Note that the bus trip from Incheon Airport will take about 4 to 4.5 hours. The one way bus ticket fare is 36,900won and can be bought at the bus ticket counter in the Incheon Airport arrival hall.  On its way to SinGohan Terminal (Gohan Station),
Taebaek Bus will stop at Gimpo Airport, Jecheon, Youngwol. After Gohan Station, this bus will go to its final destination which is Taebaek.
Upon arriving at SinGohan Terminal (Gohan Station), you just need to take the free shuttle bus to High1 Resort. The free shuttle bus (Northbound) will stop at various part of High1 Resort including Valley Condo, Hill Condo, Hotel Casino Convention, Eondeok Parking Lot, Mountain Condo F and Mountain Ski House, The free shuttle bus (Southbound) from Gohan Station will stop at High1 Casino Convention Entrance and High1 Hotel.
If you are staying at High1 Hotel, just take the Southbound free shuttle bus from Gohan Station to the hotel. The journey is only about 10 minutes. Don't worry about having to wait for the bus because there will be one free shuttle bus departing from Gohan Station every 2 minutes to 5 minutes. This free shuttle bus between Gohan Station and the hotel operates from 6am in the morning to 1am after midnight.

How to Take Bus from Incheon Airport to High1 Resort?

In summary, just take the Taebaek Bus at Incheon Airport to Gohan Station (Singohan Terminal). The bus trip will cost 39,600Won and take about 4 hours. Upon arrival at Gohan Station, you can take the free shuttle bus operated by High1 Resort to go to High1 Hotel or other destination in the resort, including Mountain Ski House and the Casino. Even though the total trip time could take up to 4.5 hours, it is worth it when you arrive at the beautiful High1 Resort from Incheon Airport. The skiing and snowboarding experience here is regarded as by many Koreans as the best in the country. While other resorts nearer to Seoul which are lower in altitude rely on man-made snow, High1 Resort enjoy thick natural snow on the slopes, which reduces the chance of injury. Furthermore, you can also take the same Taebaek Bus from Gohan Station to Incheon Airport after enjoying your skiing and snowboarding holiday in High1 Resort. If you want to return to Seoul instead of Incheon Airport after your stay at High1 Resort, there are also buses going from High1 Resort in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do to Seoul instead of Incheon Airport.

    On the return from Singohan to Incheon Airport it is very important to take the bus to 'Incheon Airport' not 'Incheon Terminal'. The latter one goes to the Incheon bus terminal located over 20 km away from the airport.
